Module: Printmaking and book design

Subject: Calligraphy and Typeface Design

Graduated in 2014 from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade, the Department of Applied Graphic. Оbtained a Master's Degree in 2015 at the same department. Currently attending last semester of Ph.D. studies at the Faculty of Applied Arts.

Gained teaching experience from 2015 until 2018 while assisting at classes of Calligraphy and Typeface Design. During 2018 and 2019 worked as a Teaching Assistant at the School of Computing in Belgrade. Became Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Applied Arts in 2019.

Working in fields of Type Design, Printmaking and Calligraphy. Co-founder of the LetterPalette Type Foundry.

Published typefaces:

  • Plener (2018), a layered typeface with four weights and two stylistic variations.
  • Obla (2017), a serif typeface with both roman and italic in seven weights.

 

Awards:

  • First prize in Category A: Non-Latin Typefaces (Cyrillic) at 11th International Type Design competition Granshan, the Republic of Armenia, 2019.
  • Typeface design award at Modern Cyrillic 2019 competition organized by Paratype, Russia.
  • Award in the category Typography letter at the 11thGrifon 2016, Competition for the Best Graphic Design in Serbia, Republic of Srpska and Montenegro.
  • Special mention in Cyrillic category at 9th International Type Design competition Granshan, the Republic of Armenia, 2016.
  • Merit Winner Award in Typeface Design Student category at PRINT’s Typography & Lettering Awardscompetition, Print Magazine, USA, 2017.
  • »StjepanFileki« Award for the achievements in the field of Calligraphy and Typeface Design, Faculty of Applied Arts, Belgrade, 2016.
